Story
People & Values: A 30-Year Journey
What began as a family commitment in Lebanon has grown into a 30 year global practice by building cross-border relationships. From the Middle East to Europe, Africa to Central Asia, the Americas and beyond, this is the story of how trust, once earned, tends to travel.
1995
A Family Foundation
DOUMMAR began with a simple belief: that how you build matters as much as what you build. Founded by Jean A. DOUMMAR in Lebanon, we committed from day one to something we still call People & Values—the idea that trust, craftsmanship, and long-term relationships are the foundation of everything we deliver. We started as a family. Thirty years later, we still operate like one.
1999
Trust Crosses Borders
Our first work beyond Lebanon came from relationships. Within a few years, we had completed projects from Jordan to Turkmenistan to Burkina Faso, and others along the way. Each border crossed was an invitation earned.
2004
Engineering Under One Roof
We brought engineering services fully in-house. To protect what engineering quality, coordination, and the promise that what we commit to is what we deliver. This was the year DOUMMAR became truly integrated: one team, one standard, one accountability. It was also the year a young engineer named Esber S. Nasrallah joined the company—a detail that would matter greatly 18 years later.
2012
Roots in West Africa
We established our regional base in Ghana, moving closer to the work and the people we served. Proximity changed everything. With a permanent presence on the continent, we could respond faster, understand local conditions deeply, and build relationships that outlasted individual projects. West Africa became a home.
2019
New Waters: The Americas
Norman Cay, in the Exumas, Bahamas, marked our first project in the Western Hemisphere. Different regulations, different logistics, different expectations. The Americas tested our flexibility. What didn't change: our insistence on direct accountability and transparent delivery. The Bahamas project proved we could adapt to unfamiliar systems without losing what made us reliable.
2021
A Bridge Through the United Kingdom
We incorporated in the UK to strengthen our ability to operate across borders and regulatory environments. It was about building infrastructure for complex international delivery. Through this base, we executed two NMSI hospital projects in Ivory Coast and, by 2024, secured a five-star hotel development in Cameroon. The UK is a bridge connecting our capabilities to opportunities across continents.
2022
Leadership from Within
Esber S. Nasrallah was named Group COO, a leader shaped entirely by the company he now helps guide. Eighteen years earlier, he had joined as an engineer. He learned our standards by living them and grew as the company grew. His appointment was a recognition of his capabilities and values. In an industry where leadership often comes from outside, we choose to elevate from within. Loyalty and growth, hand in hand.
2023
Connected through BIM 360
We integrated BIM across our operations which allows us to coordinate with greater precision, reduce rework, and maintain consistency across projects of increasing complexity. Technology helps us protect our standards at scale. Faster decisions, fewer errors, and a delivery process clients could track and trust.
2024
Deeper into Africa
With Le Méridien Yaoundé underway in Cameroon, DOUMMAR seeds its presence in Central Africa. High-end hospitality, complex systems, a client trusting us to deliver thousands of kilometers from where we started. The distance matters less than the people closing it, many of whom have been with us for years.
2025
The Next Generation
Thirty years after Jean A. DOUMMAR founded the company, his son Antoine-Raphaël stepped into a leadership role, carrying forward what we believe with new tools in hand. Under his direction, we're embedding AI into how we operate: freeing our people for the work that matters most, problem-solving, coordination, the judgment calls no system can make. For DOUMMAR, generational continuity means ensuring our values outlast any one of us, and building a company ready to serve clients for decades to come.
2026
A New Chapter in Europe
26 years. 5 countries. 31 projects. That's our history with Bouygues Bâtiment International, who brought us to Cyprus for the MEP works on the Larnaca and Pafos Airport expansion. With a new entity incorporated on the island, Cyprus opens a new journey into Europe, built on the oldest currency we have: earned trust.
